The Kansas Chamber of Commerce named Lowen Corporation a 2025 Ad Astra Award honoree, recognizing business and civic excellence in Kansas.
In March 2025, the Kansas Chamber of Commerce named Lowen Corporation the recipient of the 2025 Ad Astra Award at its annual dinner in Topeka. The award recognizes a Kansas business for unique contributions to the economic health and welfare of the state and is presented to a company that exemplifies business and civic excellence.
This year that company was Lowen.

Recognized for 75 Years of Graphics and Signage Manufacturing Excellence in Kansas
The recognition reflects more than seven decades of refusing to settle. From a hand-painted sign shop in Hutchinson, Kansas to one of the largest wide and large-format digital and screen-printing facilities in the country, Lowen Corporation has spent 75 years raising the bar for what a graphics and signage manufacturer can be.
“For 75 years, Lowen Corporation and its dedicated employees have been at the forefront of the signage and graphics industry, driving innovation and embodying the entrepreneurial spirit of Kansas,” said Alan Cobb, President and CEO of the Kansas Chamber. “As a family-owned and managed company, Lowen continues to be a national leader, operating one of the largest wide and large-format digital and screen-printing facilities in the country. The Kansas Chamber and its members are happy to recognize Lowen Corporation and its employees for their contributions to Kansas with the 2025 Ad Astra Award.”
That recognition belongs to every person who has ever brought precision, dedication, and skill to the work—the people on the production floor, the sign manufacturing teams, the installation crews working across the country, and the sales and operations professionals keeping national programs running without a hitch. This is their award as much as it is the company’s.
Built by Hand in Hutchinson, Kansas Since 1950
In 1950, C.W. “Mike” Lowen started building a company around his passion for hand-painting quality signs and graphics in Hutchinson, Kansas. The commitment to getting every detail right was there from day one—and it has never left.
Today Lowen Corporation spans multiple divisions and more than 325,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing and operational space, producing fleet graphics, vehicle wraps, real estate signage, equipment graphics, and installation services for some of the most recognized brands in America. The names on our client roster—FedEx, Chick-fil-A, USPS, Kroger—are there because the work earns them. Every graphic, every sign, every installation reflects the standard this company was built on.
Seventy-five years later, Lowen is still family-owned—still managed by people who walk the production floor—and still finding new ways to grow without losing sight of where it all started.
Civic Excellence Is Part of How We Operate
The Ad Astra Award recognizes civic excellence alongside business excellence. At Lowen, those two things have never been in competition. The same attention that goes into every piece of work we produce goes into every investment we make in the communities around us.
Our commitments include:
The Kansas State Fair, HutchFest, and numerous local community events
Hutchinson Community College and local school districts
The Reno County Cancer Council, TECH Inc., and youth sports programs
Statewide initiatives like the Making Kansas Bus Tour
National initiatives including the American Trucking Association’s Fentanyl Awareness Truck Wrap Campaign and the Share The Road and Workforce Heroes Campaigns
From Our CEO
For Matt Lowen, CEO, this award belongs to everyone who has ever been part of the Lowen story.
“This recognition is about more than just our company. It is about the hardworking people who have been part of our journey, the Kansas business community that continually pushes forward, and the resilience that defines our state. As the name of this award reminds us: To the Stars. We are proud to be a locally owned Kansas company and we look forward to reaching even greater heights together.”
To the Stars. It is not just the name of the award. It is the direction this company has always been heading—and it is heading there with a team built right here in Hutchinson, Kansas.
