Lowen Corporation Invests in Hutchinson Kansas Community with YMCA Donation

Community

Lowen Corporation donated to the Hutchinson YMCA capital campaign to support a new facility and expanded wellness programs in Hutchinson, Kansas.

Insight Brief

Lowen Corporation has been part of the Hutchinson, Kansas community since 1950. And after 75 years, that relationship is still growing.

Our recent donation to the Hutchinson YMCA capital campaign will help fund a new 75,000-square-foot facility, bringing expanded wellness programs and enhanced resources to the community where our nearly 250 team members live and work every day.

“The donation from Lowen Corporation is a tremendous help in meeting our fundraising goals,” said David Foster, Executive Director for the Hutchinson YMCA. “We are grateful for their support, which will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful completion of this much-needed facility.”

For Lowen President Tracy Metzger, the donation reflects something that runs deeper than a single gift.

“On behalf of Lowen Corporation, our employees, and the Lowen family, we are proud to support the Hutchinson YMCA and its mission to enhance community wellness. This donation reflects our commitment to fostering positive change and providing resources that empower families and individuals in our community.”

A Benefit Our Team Members Already Enjoy

Lowen’s relationship with the YMCA goes well beyond this donation. As part of our ongoing commitment to employee wellness, Lowen offers team members a discounted YMCA membership. Whether you are working in graphics production, sign manufacturing, installation, or our corporate offices, the health and well-being of our people matters as much as the work coming off our production floor.

“Lowen is proud of the long history we have with the YMCA in supporting their initiatives as well as from our many employees who are members there,” Metzger added.

Taking care of the people behind the work is not a new idea at Lowen. It is something this company has been doing since the beginning.

Community Investment Is Core to How We Operate

For a graphics and signage manufacturing company whose work shows up on vehicles, buildings, and storefronts in every state, Lowen has never lost sight of where it started. Hutchinson, Kansas is not just where our 300,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility sits. It is where our people raise their families, coach youth sports, and show up for their neighbors.

That sense of responsibility to the place that built us drives everything we do outside the four walls of our facility.

Lowen Corporation actively supports:

  • The Kansas State Fair, HutchFest, and numerous local community events

  • Hutchinson Community College and local school districts

  • Reno County Cancer Council, Hospice and Home Care of Reno County, TECH Inc., and youth sports programs

  • Statewide initiatives like the Making Kansas Bus Tour

  • National initiatives like the American Trucking Association’s Trucking Cares Foundation Fentanyl Awareness Truck Wrap Campaign

  • Customer initiatives like the Knight-Swift Charity Golf Classic benefitting children with developmental challenges through the University of California Davis Children’s Hospital

That commitment was recognized in 2025 when Lowen Corporation received the Ad Astra Award from the Kansas Chamber of Commerce, honoring a Kansas business for unique contributions to the economic health and welfare of the state and exemplifying both business and civic excellence.
